Rare Vintage 1930s–1940s Hand Embroidered Patriotic Puppy Pillow

Some things stop you in your tracks at the thrift store. This was one of them.
The center of this pillow is a genuine vintage hand embroidered panel — believed to date to the 1930s or 1940s — featuring an adorable patriotic puppy proudly carrying an American flag. The artistry and detail in the hand stitching is remarkable, the kind of needlework that takes real skill and patience that most of us simply don't see anymore.
Rather than leave it as a flat panel, we gave it a new life worthy of its age. It's framed in the same vintage red quilt fabric found throughout our coordinating collection, and finished with a lush blue ruffle and backing cut from a vintage thrifted curtain — chosen specifically for its beautiful texture and old-fashioned charm.
Every element of this pillow is vintage. Every stitch on that embroidered panel was placed by hand, by someone, decades ago. We simply honored it.
